Appeal from a judgment of the superior court for King county, Jurey, J., entered January 7, 1921, upon the verdict of a jury rendered in favor of the plaintiffs, in an action for injuries sustained in a collision between an automobile and a street car.

— This action grows out of a collision between a Ford automobile truck owned and driven by the respondent, and a street car owned and operated by the appellant, city of Seattle. The collision occurred at the junction of Bast Union street and Nineteenth avenue, both public streets of the appellant city. *328Union street extends east and west from the point of junction, and Nineteenth avenue north and south therefrom. Nineteenth avenue is comparatively level. Between Eighteenth avenue, the next street to the west, and Nineteenth avenue there is a down grade of thirteen and one-half per cent. Both…
