Opinion by

Defendant corporation operates a restaurant on Market ¡Street in Philadelphia. Two iron doors form a part of the sidewalk in front of the premises covering a cellarway, which when closed are flush with the level of the pavement, Early in the morning of January 1, 1940, plaintiff was walking along the sidewalk intending to enter the restaurant. As he stepped upon one of the iron doors it was raised from below without warning; he was thrown to the pavement and was injured. The case was tried by the president judge of the. court below without a jury who found for the plaintiff…
