Plaintiff, a real estate broker, brought suit against the defendants to recover a commission alleged to have been earned by him for negotiating a sale of certain farm land and personal property thereon, of which the defendants were the owners. Defendants answered, setting up a general denial, an affirmative defense, and a cross-complaint bringing into the action, as cross-defendants, the contracting purchasers of the property, whereupon the purchasers countered with a cross-complaint against the defendants.
