This memorandum opinion is written in conjunction with this court’s order sur the motion for summary judgment of defendants Robert E. Carlson, M.D., and Joseph R. Quill, M.D.

A brief discussion of background is necessary. This action was commenced by plaintiffs in August of 1982, seeking recovery for personal injuries which allegedly resulted from negligent medical treatment provided by defendants.
