The Public Service Company, a public utility, owns a hydroelectric generating plant known as the Shoshone plant located on the Colorado river approximately seven miles above Glenwood Springs. The Glenwood Light and Water Company, herein referred to as the Glenwood company, is a public utility owning a hydroelectric plant at Glenwood Springs operated by water used by the city. It supplies through its distribution system electric current to the citizens of Glenwood Springs and vicinity.
