The parties will be referred to herein as they appeared in the trial court.

The plaintiff alleged in his petition that the defendant E. A. Hassman was the owner of an apartment hotel in Oklahoma City, and that he had in his employ the defendant Mrs. Lavon Rein, as general manager and operator of the hotel; that on December 30, 1949, the defendant Mrs. Rein, while acting as agent and pursuant to her duties, was attempting to replace a light bulb above the front door of the hotel; that the plaintiff, a tenant in the building, at the request of Mrs. Rein, climbed a ladder to replace the bulb;…
