This writ of error was sued out by Fouis W. Gruber to review the judgment of the Appellate Court for the First District. That court affirmed the judgment of the criminal court of Cook county where a jury had found defendant guilty on all fifteen counts of the indictment. In each of the respective counts he was charged with obtaining a signature to a written instrument by false pretenses, contrary to section 96 of the Criminal Code. (38 S.H.A.S. 253; Ill.
