MEMORANDUM OPINION AND ORDER

ANN C. WILLIAMS, District Judge.

In this criminal case, the grand jury in a six-count indictment charges that the defendant Wallace Davis, Jr. committed racketeering in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1962(c) and extortion in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1951(a). The indictment also charges that the defendant lied to the Federal Bureau of Investigation during its investigation of these offenses in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1001.
