OPINION

BOURCIER, Justice.

A Family Court magistrate granted Bernadine R. DiOrio’s petition for divorce from Ronald C. DiOrio, and thereafter proceeded to distribute the marital estate, pursuant to G.L.1956 § 15-5-16.1. Ronald C. DiOrio appeals, arguing that the magistrate erred in apportioning and distributing the marital estate. For the reasons hereinafter set out, we sustain the appeal in part and remand the case to the Family Court for redetermination of the marital portion of the plaintiff’s retirement pension; for a redetermination of the amount of any tax reduction to be made on that…
