In this appeal, we are asked to decide whether a Family Court justice erred in finding that loans taken out by the defen dant, JoAnne Palin, to pay for the college educations of her and the plaintiffs, Steven Palin’s, children are not marital debt. JoAnne 1 appeals from an amended decision pending entry of final judgment of divorce. She argues on appeal that the loans at issue should have been considered marital debt by the trial justice because they were incurred during the marriage and were for the benefit of the couple’s children.
