PERRY, Judge:

The appellant was convicted of violating a general order by possessing a pistol; wrongfully communicating a threat; and assault with intent to commit murder (4 specifications) in violation of Articles 92 and 134, Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 U.S.C. §§ 892, 934, respectively. He was sentenced to a dishonorable discharge, imprisonment for 8 years, forfeiture of $200 pay per month for 8 years, and reduction to the lowest enlisted grade. The convening authority reduced the period of confinement and forfeitures to 3 years but otherwise approved the findings…
