ROBINSON, J.
The plaintiff, Michael J. Nichols, appeals from the judgment of the trial court dismissing his action against the defendant, The Milford Pediatric Group, P.C., on the ground that the plaintiff failed to file a certificate of good faith and a written opinion letter from a similar health care provider as required by General Statutes § 52-190a (a). The plaintiff claims that he was not required to comply with § 52-190a because the alleged negligence did not constitute a claim of medical malpractice.
