WILKINS, Circuit Judge:

Ronald Dale Yeatts filed this petition for habeas corpus relief1 from his Virginia conviction for capital murder and his resulting death sentence. See 28 U.S.C.A. § 2254 (West 1994).2 The district court denied the relief sought.
