OPINION

WALKER, Chief Justice.

This is an appeal from a conviction for the felony offense of Capital Murder. Appellant was indicted for murdering his parents with both murders occurring during the same criminal transaction. See TexPenal Code Ann. § 19.03(a)(7)(A) (Vernon 1994). As appellant was a juvenile at the time the offense was committed, the jury’s “guilty” verdict resulted in the trial court automatically assessing appellant’s punishment at life in the Institutional Division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
