Autoflex Leasing, Inc. (Autoflex) brought suit against Manufacturers Auto Leasing, Inc. (Manufacturers) under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), 1 a federal statute that permits a person to seek monetary or injunctive relief for unsolicited facsimile advertisements “if otherwise permitted by the laws or rules of court of a State.” 2 The trial court granted Manufacturers’ motion for summary judgment and dismissed Autoflex’s suit.
