The Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney filed an information charging Kevin M. Swenson with several crimes, but he was not brought for arraignment until nearly six months later because the Department of Corrections (DOC) had sent him to another county to address criminal charges in that county. One week after his arraignment, Swenson moved to dismiss the charges, claiming that the delay violated his time for trial rights. We find that the prosecuting attorney acted with good faith and due diligence in trying to bring Swenson to trial and, therefore, Swenson’s objection to his arraignment…
