The sole issue in this appeal is whether, at a summary proceeding brought under General Statutes § 16-262f1 for the appointment of a receiver of rents, *314the defendants have a constitutional right, as a matter of procedural due process, to litigate fully their counter*315claims against the plaintiff. The plaintiff, Connecticut Natural Gas Corporation, filed a petition for an order to show cause for the appointment of a receiver of rents for an apartment building owned by the defendants, Ronald and Karen Miller.
