This appeal involves the alleged invalidity of two tax sales made to the state on December 8, 1931, and April 6, 1932, respectively. The sales in each instance were of Sixteenth Section and other lands, which together comprise one tract, assessed to the same owner. The appellees F.W. and M.R. Wilkinson, composing the partnership of Bolivar Gin Company, were the holders of the unexpired portion of 99-year leases on the lands in Section Sixteen, and in their bill of complaint they seek to have the said tax sales declared void and cancelled as a cloud on their leasehold interest, making the…
