Plaintiff John R. Knoll filed suit against defendants AT & T Company and Lucent Technologies, Inc., alleging that defendants discharged and failed to rehire him because of his age. He claimed defendants failed to hire and wrongfully discharged him in violation of the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, 29 U.S.C. §§ 621-634 (1994) (“ADEA”).
