In 1948 the plaintiffs acquired two lots in the Village of Hinsdale, in DuPage County, located at the Southwest corner of the intersection of U. S. Route 34, commonly called Ogden Avenue and County Line Road. The property measures 105 feet along Ogden Avenue and 300 feet along County Line Road. At the time of the purchase, the land was zoned for commercial use permitting automobile service stations, among other things.
