This is an action to recover damages for personal injuries sustained while the plaintiff was engaged as a stevedore in piling boxes of tin on a dock operated by the defendant, The Pacific Ports Service Corporation, on the water front of the city of Portland. The individual defendants, with the exception of John D. Nash, are copartners operating as steamship agents under the firm name of Norton, Lilly & Company.
