The plaintiff sued for total disability benefits on two insurance policies identical in form issued by the defendant. Each policy contained a provision for the payment of monthly disability benefits in an amount stated in the contract, “Upon due proof that . . . the Insured has become wholly disabled by bodily injuries or disease and will be continuously and wholly prevented thereby for life from engaging in any occupation or employment for wage or profit . . .” The combined total monthly benefits payable under both policies were but $29.17.
