This action was brought by the plaintiff carrier to recover freight charges for the transportation of two shipments of produce — one a carload of lettuce, and the other a carload of grapes. Defendants filed an affidavit of defense and also set up a counterclaim for the value of the grapes. The court below held the affidavit of defense was insufficient, and also sustained plaintiff’s demurrer to the counterclaim; this appeal is by the defendants from the judgment entered for the full amount demanded.
