This suit, as tried on an amended petition filed May 16, 1906, was a suit by W. A. Morgan & Brothers and the Austin Fire Insurance Company and the Hartford Fire Insurance Company and the Insurance Company of North America to recover of the Missouri, Kansas & Texas Railway Company of Texas, the sum of $34,000 as damage by fire to 598 bales of cotton, occurring at La Grange, Texas, on the 27th day of February, 1906, through the negligence of the Missouri, Kansas & Texas Railway Company of Texas.
