Overview

Onyx supports Exa as a native provider for both web search and content retrieval. Configure an Exa provider in the Onyx Admin Web Search settings, where its API key is stored with the provider configuration rather than relying on the deprecated environment-only setup.

How to enable Exa in Onyx:

  • Open Onyx Admin and go to Web Search provider settings.
  • Create or select a provider with type exa.
  • Enter the Exa API key; Onyx stores it encrypted in the provider record.
