The plaintiff had declared specially on the following note:

“$2,500.00 St. Albans, Yt., September 29, 1921.

Ten days after date we promise to pay to the order of M. H. Alexander, Attorney for Clara G-. Wood, Twenty-five Hundred Dollars at the Franklin County Savings Bank and Trust Company, Value received.
