The appellant, Michael D. Kidd, a police officer, was convicted after a jury trial in Platte County of acceding to corruption under § 576.020, RSMo, 2000.1 He was sentenced to one year in the county jail and assessed a $100 fine. He argues that the trial court erred: 1) in submitting a jury instruction that did not define specifically the “known legal duty” that the appellant violated in return for sexual favors pursuant to MAI CR3d 330.12, and 2) in overruling his motion for judgment of acquittal because the evidence was insufficient to convict him beyond a…
