Defendant was convicted under an indictment returned March 17, 1916, charging a violation of an act of the Legislature entitled "An act relating to the safety of employés and other persons on railroads, by providing for power headlights on all engines operated in road service in the night-time, with a penalty for the violation thereof," approved July 17, 1915, and commonly called the "Locomotive Headlight Law."
