VIGIL, Chief Justice.

{1} Defendant Dorall Smith appeals his convictions for first-degree murder, contrary toNMSA 1978, Section 30-2-1 (A)(1) (1994), and criminal damage to property, contrary to NMSA 1978, Section 30-15-1 (1963).
