Albert Pick & Company, a corporation, brought an action of replevin against George K. Spoor. There was a trial before the court without a jury, and a finding and judgment in favor of plaintiff, to reverse which defendant prosecutes this appeal.

Plaintiff’s right of possession of the property was based on a chattel mortgage given to it by the owner, dated April 17, 1917, acknowledged before the clerk of the Municipal Court of Chicago, May 2, 1917, and recorded in the recorder’s office of Cook county, Illinois, May 7, 1917. The…
