The appellant owns a brick building fronting on Mew-man Street in the City of Hattiesburg, in front of which was a wooden shed or awning attached to the building and extending over the sidewalk. This awning fell while the appellee was on the sidewalk under it and injured him, for which he sued the appellant and the City of Hattiesburg. When the appellee introduced his evidence in chief and rested, the court below gave the City of Hattiesburg a directed verdict and there was a judgment for the city accordingly!
