The plaintiff sued the defendants to recover the value of certain corporation bonds belonging to the plaintiff which had come into the possession of the defendants and had been by them converted to their own use. The bonds and the coupons thereon were payable to bearer, they stated on their faces that they were secured by trust deeds or mortgages, and they were in other respects in the same form as the mortgage bonds under consideration in Kohn v.
