OPINION BY

SOLANO, J.:

Appellant John Nobles appeals from the order entered on August 18, 2015, granting summary judgment in favor of Staples, Inc.; Staples the Office Superstore East; and Staples the Office Superstore, LLC (collectively, “Staples”), in his action to recover damages for personal injuries. We affirm.

Nobles was a corporal in the Philadelphia Police Department. On April 5, 2011, he was at his office desk when the chair on which he was sitting snapped at the base and fell to the floor. Nobles hit his head as he fell and sustained injuries to his neck, back, and right shoulder.…
