This case is before me for the third time. Originally, on December 7, 1983 I presided over a combined Mapp and Huntley hearing; the motions to suppress were denied (opn filed Jan. 10, 1984). The case was then tried before the Honorable Julius Vinik and a jury, resulting in a conviction on March 20, 1984. Before the defendant was sentenced, the Appellate Division decided People v Pace (101 AD2d 336, affd 65 NY2d 684).
