BEAR, J.

The plaintiff, Maria Szczycinska, appeals from the judgment of the trial court rendered in accordance with the jury’s verdict awarding her $3109.01 in economic damages and $2000 in noneconomic damages in this negligence action. The defendant Danielle B. Acampora cross appeals from the judgment rendered against her. On appeal, the plaintiff claims that the court improperly permitted the defendant’s medical expert to testify regarding the alleged impairment to the plaintiffs dorsal spine.
