In July, 1902, there was organized under the laws of South Dakota a 'corporation, known as the “Appalachian Gas & Oil Company.” Its principal place of business was Pierre, South Dakota, with a charter right to have a business office located in Lexington, Kentucky. It had a capital stock of $200,000, divided into 20,000 shares of ten dollars each Its corporators were, M. C. Alford of Lexington, Ky., H. C. Jasper of Richmond, Ky., and L. L.
