This appeal presents another aspect of the emergency rent legislation affecting property in the city of New York.

In 1942, plaintiff rented an entire five-floor building in the borough of Manhattan, for an indefinite term, for the conduct of its business. Four years later, in May of 1946, defendant bought the building.
