Petitioner Gulf Paving Company sued Mrs. Zereline Rodgers Lofstedt and her husband, C. J. Lofstedt, to recover the principal and interest, together with reasonable attorney’s fees, of a certificate of special assessment issued pursuant to an ordinance of the City of Houston for the improvement of Broadway, a street in front of a tract of land alleged to be owned by Mrs. Lofstedt and her husband, and for foreclosure of lien securing the certificate.
