— In a personal restraint petition (PRP) Darold J. Stenson asks this court to reverse his conviction and death sentence, which this court affirmed in State v. Stenson, 132 Wn.2d 668, 940 P.2d 1239 (1997), cert. denied, 523 U.S. 1008 (1998). Petitioner Stenson claims he received ineffective assistance of counsel, which violates the Sixth Amendment because “ ‘the right to counsel is the right to the effective assistance of counsel.’ ” Strickland v.
