In September 2017, plaintiff Sarah Pleznac filed this putative class action against her former landlord, Equity Residential Management, L.L.C. The gist of Pleznac's complaint is that Equity perpetrated a "bait-and-switch" scheme that fooled her and other tenants into paying higher rents than they expected, and that it retaliated against her for complaining about its practices.
