This is an action brought by the plaintiffs in the Superior Court to recover damages for injuries they suffered when some debris fell upon them while they were standing in front of a building owned by the defendant. The defendant’s motions for directed verdicts, made at the close of the plaintiffs’ case and at the close of all the evidence, were denied. The jury returned verdicts for the plaintiffs, and judgments were entered accordingly. The defendant then filed what appears to be a motion pursuant to Mass.R.Civ.P. 50(b), 365 Mass. 814 (1974), which was also denied. On appeal the defendant…
