INTRODUCTION

This case involves an appeal from the district court for Kimball County’s denial of a motion for postconviction relief. In 1993, the appellant, Verle E. Olson, pled no contest to a charge of attempted sexual assault on a child, a Class III felony. Olson filed a motion for postconviction relief based on allegations that his constitutional rights were violated because he received ineffective assistance of counsel and was denied bond and because the amended information, to which he pled no contest, was insufficient.
