Appeal from a judgment of the County Court of Albany County (Harris, J.), rendered October 4,1982, upon a verdict convicting defendant of the crimes of assault in the first degree and assault in the second degree.
The conviction in this case arose out of separate incidents which occurred between the hours of 11:30 p.m. and midnight on *940June 2, 1982 in the City of Albany wherein two women were attacked from behind and had their throats slashed.
