This is an appeal from a decree of the circuit court of Will county directing appellants to pay appellee, receiver of the Illinois State Bank of Crete, $76,030.55. The receiver filed a bill in chancery against James E. Bennett, Frank A. Miller and Frank J. Saibert, as individuals and as copartners, doing business under the firm name of James E. Bennett & Company, and Gustav H. Kracke. In Ohlendorf v. Rathje, 230 Ill. App. 427, we set out at length a sorry story of a bank failure in a small town, which was brought about through speculations of the bank’s cashier on the Chicago Board of Trade.…
