This action was-brought against the State Highway Department for the death of Joseph Ernest Proctor, the appellant’s intestate, on the night of December 23, 1935, alleged to have been caused when the automobile in which he was riding skidded on the Dumber River Bridge, which transverses a portion of Horry County and a portion of Marion County, spanning Dumber River between the two counties, on State Highway No. 9, the automobile breaking through the railing, falling into the river, whereupon appellant’s intestate was drowned.
