Defendant and the victim were using methamphetamine at defendant’s house when defendant was angered by a text message she read on the victim’s phone. Defendant summoned to the house an accomplice who, along with defendant, assaulted the victim at the house over the course of a day and a half. After the victim escaped, defendant was charged with ten different offenses, including first-degree kidnapping and various drug-related offenses.
