The considerations bad in F. B. Vandegrift Co. v. United States (9 Ct. Cust. Appls., 112; T. D. 37978) are equally pertinent in this appeal. The differentiating facts in the two cases require, however, separate consideration. In this case the merchandise was shipped from Japan and came into the country at Tacoma, Wash., on July 17, 1916. Immediate transportation entry was made'and the goods shipped in bond without appraisement to Jersey City,.which is within the limits of the port of New York.
