Ronald Culwell started driving coal truck EH-1 about three weeks after he began working for Enerhaul, Inc. in October 1980. Culwell was the only person to drive EH-1 while he was employed at Enerhaul and from the outset he complained about the truck. 1 Culwell informed his supervisor, Bobby Tucker, that he was having difficulty keeping EH-1 on the road because of a severe darting problem.
