The will of James P. Sterrett, who died in 1901, placed the residue of his estate in trust, “to pay the net annual income” to his daughters Laura M., Annie B. and Emma J. Sterrett, “the survivors and survivor of them, for and during their natural lives, in such amounts and proportions as [the trustee] may deem needful,” and provided for a power of appointment by “the majority of my said daughters or the survivor of them.” The Girard Trust Company, trustee under the will of James P. Sterrett, deceased, petitioned the Orphans’ Court of Allegheny County…
