On October 23, 1987, appellant was convicted by jury of attempted murder (Pen. Code, §§ 664, 187) 1 and one count of assault by means of force likely to produce great bodily injury (§ 245, subd. (a)(1)). On October 27, 1987, a bifurcated jury trial was held concerning enhancement allegations and the following allegations were found to be true: In conjunction with count I appellant was found to have personally used a weapon (§ 12022, subd. (b)), inflicted great bodily injury (§ 12022.7) and suffered five prior felony convictions pursuant to sections 667.7,…
